Scholarships to Help Reach Dreams
Epsilon Tau Chapter offers scholarships for area high school students who are interested in pursuing a career in business-related fields. All Scholarships are funded through Epsilon Tau Outreach, our 501(c)(3) charity.
Applicants should submit a completed application along with all documentation and an essay. All applications should be submitted electronically to epsilon_tau@yahoo.com by the deadline to be considered. Click here to find a schedule and sample documentation package.
Local Scholarships
The Eryn L. Fayson Memorial Scholarship
The Eryn L. Fayson Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the memory of Eryn Leslee Fayson, who in June 2022, tragically passed away from brain cancer. Eryn was just 19 years old.
Criteria:
- One female high school senior.
- Must attend any public, private parochial school within surrounding Dallas County.
- Demonstrate a commitment to higher learning, leadership, and a significant commitment to volunteer service in our community.
Deadline: Annually January 10
Dorethea N. Hornbuckle Memorial Scholarship
Each year, Iota Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. will award the Dorethea N. Hornbuckle Memorial Scholarship (DNHMS) to a graduating high school student or a continuing college student, who graduated from high school within the past 4 years, enabling them to pursue or continue academic studies in the field of business, business administration, science, or engineering at an institution of higher learning of their choice located in the United States of America. The DNHMS is a one-time award that provides a college scholarship up to $3,000 for the academic year for students pursuing a degree at a four-year institution. Upon receipt of enrollment verification, the scholarship will be awarded and made payable to the recipient’s educational institution.
Criteria:
- Undergraduate (full-time) student or graduating high school student transitioning to college.
- Pursuing a degree in Business, Business Administration, Science or Engineering.
- Minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent).
- Attending or planning to attend a post-secondary, accredited institution.
- Community service involvement within past 12 months with certified documentation.
Deadline: February 15, 2025
Alice P. Allen National Scholarship
The Alice P. Allen National Scholarship is named in honor of Iota’s second National President (1946-1950). This $2,000.00 scholarship is to be awarded to a teenage mother desiring to further her education beyond high school. Judging criteria will include academic performance, demonstrated leadership, career aspirations and financial need.
Criteria:
- Teenage mother only, who is a graduating high school senior.
- Plans to further her education beyond high school.
Deadline: March 17, 2025
Paul N. Beaty II Legacy of Impact Memorial Scholarship
The Paul N. Beaty II Legacy of IMPACT MEMORIAL Scholarship highlights the enduring impact of Paul’s legacy on future generations, encouraging them to shine in their pursuits in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.
Criteria:
- Candidate must be enrolled in an accredited college/university.
- Candidate must be pursuing a degree in a STEAM-related field.
- Candidate must demonstrate academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to personal growth.
- Candidate must provide proof of enrollment before actual allocation of the awarded funds.
- Candidate must have a permanent home address in the DFW metroplex.
Deadline: March 1, 2025
Auxiliary Scholarships
Diego Jones Memorial Scholarship Application
Open to Future Iota Leaders who demonstrate leadership, community service, and academic achievement.
Criteria:
- Candidate must be a graduating high school senior at the time the application is submitted.
- Must attend any public, private parochial school within surrounding Dallas County.
- Demonstrate a commitment to higher learning, leadership, and a significant commitment to volunteer service in our community.
Deadline: February 1, 2025
Members Only
Iota Fellowship
The purpose of the fellowship is to give sorors the opportunity to study by receiving financial assistance for undergraduate, graduate, or special study.
Criteria:
- Iota Membership of three years or more which includes participation as committee chairperson or officer on any level.
- Education and supporting documents should include three letters of recommendation, a personal photo, an official college transcript, and a letter of admission from the school’s degree awarding program.
- Business and Professional Career documentation.
- Civic and Social Participation, include community work (local, regional, or national).
